Job description
We have a cow calf operation. For calving, we confine 400 cows for calving from November through May. During this time, they need daily care and assistance with birthing and deliveries. Employees will also need to maintain fences and pastures during this period. Animals are released to pastures at the end of May after which no more daily care is needed. All hands-on cattle operations occur seasonally from November through May, including winter calving, spring fencing, and pasture maintenance through spring and summer. Employees assist with animal reproduction such as breeding, artificial insemination, and calving, as well as segregating, marking, and identifying livestock using brands, tags, paint, or tattoos. They also move livestock and equipment between locations and inspect, maintain, and repair equipment, machinery, pens, yards, fences, and buildings. Essential job duties include calving, fence and pasture maintenance, tagging calves at birth, and moving cow/calf pairs to pasture in the spring. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
Special Requirements
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Require a regular drivers license and 3 months general farming experience.
