Job description

The worker will serve in a seasonal administrative support role for a farm supply cooperative specializing in fertilizer, seed, and crop products. Primary duties include answering incoming phone calls, entering bills of lading, and entering sales tickets into the company’s administrative systems. The worker will be responsible for tracking inventory levels across two large fertilizer facilities (3500-ton and 1600-ton capacity), reconciling inventory quantities on hand, and ensuring accurate records are maintained to support fiscal audits. Duties also include providing day-to-day administrative assistance to management and field staff during the busy season. The role is critical during winter months, when facilities are filled with fertilizer and crop products in preparation for the growing season. Accuracy in inventory and record keeping is essential to the company’s operations. Employment is considered at-will. However, prior to termination, the employer will typically implement an escalatory disciplinary process, including a written
warning followed by a termination notice, unless immediate termination is warranted due to serious misconduct. This process provides transparency and fairness in addressing any performance issues while maintaining compliance with applicable federal and state labor regulations. The role requires reliability, attention to detail, and the ability to support operational efficiency during peak seasonal demand. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.

Special Requirements

No experience is required. Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. These hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity. Use of cell phones during work hours is prohibited, supervisors will have phones in case of emergency. Skill Level I Entry Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level I Entry Level, indicating that the job requires limited experience and routine supervision consistent with entry-level duties. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
