Job description

Feed cattle and livestock; Clean water tanks and ensure cattle have access to water; Check on the health of cattle and monitor pastures; Vaccinate cattle, treat injuries and illnesses, and maintain health records; Assist with breeding activities; Separate and transport cattle to market or manufacturing plants; Clean barns, pens, and other facilities; Maintain and repair fences, gates, and farm equipment; Prepare barns for winter and pastures for grazing; Manage herds or flocks, including overseeing the growth and development of animals; Drive tractors.

There are few typical days and workers may be required to change duties often and engage in various general functions. Daily duties may vary depending on livestock and weather conditions. Workers may be asked, but are not required, to work on their Sabbath.

Special Requirements

2 months of experience with cattle and operating farm equipment. Due to the operation of machinery and vehicles, drug testing may be conducted post-hire at the employer's expense. All workers may be subject to mandatory testing if they have been involved in a reportable accident or upon reasonable suspicion that drug use is impacting job performance.
