Job description

Work under this contract will consist of harvesting Peaches, Cherries, Almonds, Walnuts, field packing, loading & stacking, tractor and forklift driving, and general labor.
Loading & Stacking: Carry full loads of produce and transfer them to designated areas.
Carry filled containers to collection points or load them onto trailers/trucks for transport. Ensure all packed produce is secure for transportation.
Pre & Post-Harvest Tasks: Once a field section is harvested, workers will assist with any pre or post-harvest activities such as setting up equipment, ensuring machinery is ready for harvest. Once harvest is over, workers will assist in removing leftover plant debris, putting machinery away, and cleaning up any materials from the field.
Tractor and Forklift Operation: Safely operate tractors, forklifts, and other farm equipment as needed for transporting materials, load pallets of packed product onto flatbed trucks, and preparing fields as directed and trained by supervisory personnel. Operate and perform routine maintenance checks on equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Adhere to safety protocols and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns immediately.
General Labor: Perform general maintenance such as cleaning fields of debris, harvesting, and ensuring fields remain accessible for harvesting tasks, and other crop related activities as needed.

Special Requirements

Min. of 12 mos. of verifiable Agricultural Supervisor exp. required in the last 2 years. Employee may drive a 5-passenger truck. Employee may pick up workers from different housing sites/pick-up points, take them to an assigned work site, and, at the end of the day, take them back to the housing site/pick-up point. To drive farmworkers, Employee must possess a valid driver's license (state issued) & must be able to pass a Class C Driver's License, Physical exam, & register as an FLCE driver. Employer will be responsible for the cost of the Physical Exam & the registration as an FLCE driver (if any). The Driver's License & FLCE Certificate are job requirements. All work must be performed in a manner that always exhibits Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) & the utmost food safety. The worker must attend the required orientation, which time will be compensated. Must be able to understand work & safety instructions in English or Spanish, the languages spoken & written in the workplace.
