Job description

Dates of need:
Worker 1: 1/23/26 to 10/17/26
Worker 2: 4/06/26 to 11/20/26.
The Beekeeper Position will be responsible for the daily care of honeybee colonies. These activities include
but are not limited to:
-Closely monitoring hive activity, including inspecting the queen in each hive and the reviewing number of
eggs or larvae present
-Managing colonies by adding new hive boxes to maintain colony growth and removing boxes as needed.
-Careful inspection of hives for symptoms of disease or infestation, to determine the health status of colonies.
-Treating hives for any disease if found in routine hive inspections.
-Providing feed and supplements to the colony during times as needed.

Additional duties include:
-Harvesting honey from the hives during two harvest cycles.
-Assist in the honey extraction process including packaging.
-Responsible for moving hives from one location to another using beekeeping forklift equipment and flat bed trucks.
-Complete Warehouse duties such as inventory management and general grounds maintenance

Special Requirements

Previous Commercial Beekeeping experience, queen bee rearing, experience driving beekeeping forklift equipment or equivalent, preparing loads for movement, and Experience driving loads of bees from one apiary location to another is required. 2 months of training required that includes hands-on experience in commercial beekeeping and shadowing of other beekeepers.

Ability to follow specific directions and work independently at times.

Workers must be able to obtain such license not later than 30 days after the first workday after the arrival of the worker at the place of employment. Type of vehicle to be driven is a two-axel flatbed diesel truck and a pickup truck. Both requiring a state drivers license. Employer will cover all cost associated with the employee obtaining/renewing a state drivers license and will assist the employee with the completion of any forms associated with the state drivers license requirements. Employer will also compensate the employee for time spent driving.
