Farm Worker

Job description

Duties may include: Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures. Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery to plow, harrow, plant, harvest or bale hay. Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies while they are not able to graze in fields. Mix feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions to ensure proper health and weight gain in calves and cattle going to market. Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain. Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and landscaping. Shift animals between grazing areas to ensure that they have sufficient access to food & other related Farmworker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org).

Special Requirements

A 1-Month period of on-the-job training will be available to each worker. Must be 18 years of age.Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 40lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified. Variable weather conditions may apply.
