Farm Worker

Job description

Operating large farm equipment and machinery equipped with GPS for cultivating, tilling, fertilizing, planting, and harvesting grain and oilseed crops; transporting grain and oilseed crops from field to storage facilities; install and maintain irrigation, polypipe and flood; walking fields pulling weeds; harvesting, processing, drying, bagging and transporting rice; driving pickup to obtain parts and supplies; daily repairs and maintenance to equipment, machinery, buildings, irrigation, and fences; maintenance of worksite and equipment; and cleaning location and equipment.

Work schedules may vary, and employees may be assigned to rotating shifts, including evening or weekend work as needed. Duties may change during the workday depending on crop conditions, weather, and field needs. Workers will perform a variety of general farm labor tasks as assigned, consistent with the job description and within the certified hours.

Special Requirements

3 months farming experience required. Must be able to obtain driver's license within 30 days of hire and obtain clean driving record. Due to the use of vehicles and heavy machinery, drug testing may be conducted post-hire at the employers expense and is not part of the interview process. All workers may be subject to mandatory testing if they have been involved in a reportable accident or upon reasonable suspicion that drug use is impacting job performance.
