Farm Laborer

Job description

Duties include general nursery work such as applying fertilizers, pruning container trees, weeding container trees, potting container trees into larger size containers, loading trees on trucks leaving the property for customer delivery, light general landscaping activities at the nursery, construction and/or repairing of irrigation and fences and other general farm-related activities that one would expect to occur on a working farm. This job will be done under extreme weather conditions such as heat, direct sunlight, cold weather, possible rain, wind, and exposure to pollen. Repetitive physical conditions such as prolonged walking, standing, heavy bending, stooping, reaching and lifting will be involved on a regular basis.

Workers with a clean driving record (no major violations such as, but not limited to, driving while intoxicated or reckless driving) and in possession of or able to obtain an insurable driver's license may drive company vehicles to take workers to the worksite, drive them back to the employer-provided housing, and/or to the grocery store.

Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by supervisors and practice safety in all aspects of work. The employer is a drug-free workplace and has a zero tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol in the workplace and in the employer-provided housing.
