Job description
AEWR; US Workers: AR: $16.18; H2A Workers: AR: $15.05.
Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found under SOC code 45-2092 Farmworkers & Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse. Duties include but are not limited to:
Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage and post-harvest treatment of crops such as working with bins and augers to load carts and trailers.
Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment.
Set-up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment.
Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery (much of which is equipped with GPS) such as sprayer, combine, tillage tool to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as corn, soybeans, rice.
Load inputs and drive trucks to transport to employer's fields, load employer's crops and drive trucks to transport to fields and storage facilities such as elevators, bins, silos, piles/bags in close proximity to the farm.
Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping.
Haul and spread manure, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil.
Repair farm buildings, fences and other structures.
Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery.
Attach implements using hand tools.
Special Requirements
A minimum of three months verifiable experience is required.
Workers must be able to obtain their drivers license within 30-90 days of hire.
Workers will perform manual and physical work requiring extensive pushing, pulling, sitting or walking, frequent stooping, bending over and movements might be repetitive.
Job duties include lifting of agricultural tools and equipment that weigh up to 75lbs.
Work is performed mostly outdoors, and workers will be exposed to hot and humid conditions.
No texting and use of cellphone during working hours, while operating machinery, equipment and driving vehicles.
Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive for any illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply, may result in immediate termination from employment.
Employer undertakes to keep the relevant workers compensation policy up to date for the entire duration of the work contract.
