Job description
Drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store grain crops. Attach farm implements, such as plow, disc, cultivator, planter, rotary hoe, harrow, ripper, mower and drill to tractor. Till soil, plant and cultivate grain. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive and operate self-propelled combine. General lubrication, replace/maintain tires, service (check fluids), replace wear items and mechanical repair to farm machinery. Clean grain bins. Install field drainage tile. Pick rocks from field, clear trees for crop land using excavator, back hoe, skid loader, along with picking up sticks and having the ability to run chainsaw. Hand weeding of organic crops. Maintaining farm building sites, weed whipping, mowing, tree trimming. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. Farming with: Corn, Hay, Peas, Soy Beans
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm. Failure to pass criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
