Job description
We need seasonal employees to operate tractors and other farm equipment to assist with planting, growing and harvesting of our crops (corn, pinto beans, soybeans and rye). Employees will need to do pre-season maintenance in February to get the equipment ready for the planting season. Employees will need to drive trucks to haul our harvested crops to the appropriate storage locations. Employees will be required to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment including cleaning, changing tires, oil, blowing out radiators, tapping out engine air filters and cab air filters, changing coolant and hydraulic filters and and taking care of the equipment. Job will require shop work and keeping the shop and tools clean and organized. All our ground is irrigated ground so we will have to watch sprinklers all summer long. They break down we have to fix them whether its electrical, a gearbox, center drive, contractor, a short in the wire whatever case may be we get it back up and rolling as soon as possible. May be required to pull irrigation wells and service sprinklers. Must be able to set Chemigators, insectigators and fertilizer pumps. Must have knowledge of GS3 auto guidance systems on equipment. Must be able to run telehandler/wheel loads and climb grain bins. No fear of heights. No commercial truck driving is required.
Special Requirements
Employer will conduct post-hire criminal background checks at no cost to the employee. Employer will not hire anyone with a theft/violent criminal background. Employer will conduct post-hire drug testing at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Job requires extensive sitting, pushing, pulling, walking, frequent stooping, repetitive movements. Must have a regular drivers license. Job requires 3 months experience.
