Job description

We need seasonal employees to assist with our winter calving season. The need for seasonal employment in our cow/calf operation arises because, during the winter months, cattle are run on farm fields, requiring continuous fencing, water hauling, and frequent movement of livestock from one field to the next. In the summer, cattle are placed on prairie pasture and remain there for the duration of the season, which does not require additional labor. Job duties include feeding and watering livestock; monitoring food and water supplies; mixing feed, additives, and medicines in prescribed portions; and distributing feed using trucks, tractors, or other equipment. Workers will also move livestock and equipment between locations, build and repair fences, check and fill water sources, assist with moving cattle from one field to another, and tag and check calves during the calving season. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.

Special Requirements

The job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures; applicants must be able to lift 30 lbs and must have a valid drivers license, and have at least 3 months of relevant experience.
