Job description
Adams Farms Inc is a family owned and operated business in Southern Illinois. We grow corn, soybeans, parent seed soybeans, soft red winter wheat and ornamental pumpkins on a total of 5,000 acres. We can store nearly 100 percent of the grain we raise in our own, on-farm storage. We have late model John Deere equipment ranging from 8370R tractors, S780 combines, Hagie and Deere Sprayers, along with quality trucks and service equipment. Employees will assist in the primary growing season by planting, spraying, tillage, fertility applications, land maintenance and up keep, harvest, hauling and farm maintenance projects. Employees will operate tractor, farm truck, harvester, grain cart, and other farm equipment. Employees will mix and apply chemicals, apply fertilizer, clean/maintain grain bins, haul grain from field to storage locations, and dump loads into bins. Employees will assist with all aspects of growing these crops, and complete general farm duties as assigned. Employees will need to complete routine repairs and maintenance on equipment. Employees must have a positive attitude and willingness to work through difficulties, and have a willingness to work late when weather forecast or crop growth stage demands. No commercial truck driving is required. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience.
Special Requirements
Job requires extensive sitting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive movements. Employer will conduct post-hire, random drug tests at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug free workplace policy. Failing a drug test will result in termination. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular drivers license. Require 3 months experience.
