Job description

Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2091 Agricultural Equipment Operators such as: Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery such as skid steers, mulcher, excavator to care for pastures including discing, planting, mowing; Clean, repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment including maintaining canals and ditches; Clean drains and pump excess water off fields; Inform farm managers of crop progress; Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of products; Load agricultural products into trucks without over or underfilling bed or trailer, and drive to market or storage facilities; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Regulate conditions; Maintain inventory; Trap and destroy pests such as moles, gophers, and mice; Haul and spread topsoil, fertilizer, and other materials to condition soil; Attend to live farm animals; Repair farm buildings, fences, housing, and other structures; Mulch overgrown areas, mow seed; Mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery; Attach implements using hand tools; Weigh containers and record weights and identifying information.

Special Requirements

Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 75 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
