Job description
I farm 2500 acres of cotton, corn, wheat, and milo. 1400 acres is irrigated farmland. This consists of sprinkler pivots and drip irrigation. The remaining 1100 acres is dryland. Most of my acres each year are grown in cotton. We need a seasonal employee to assist with all aspects of growing these crops. Employee will need to operate and maintain farm equipment. This will include driving tractors, cotton strippers, combine, and sprayer. The tractor driving will consist of plowing, planting, shredding, spraying, and dirt moving. Will be required to clean, service, and maintain the equipment on a regular basis. Will need to be capable of operating newer John Deere equipment. Employee will also need to do maintenance and service Irrigation systems. This will include sprinkler pivots, drip irrigation systems and irrigation wells. Knowledge about electricity is important. All forms of manual labor and general farm duties needed on the farm. Employer may, at its sole discretion, provide pay increases based on longevity or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer. Workers returning for a consecutive season will be paid at their previous season’s rate if that rate exceeds the current published rate.
Special Requirements
Job requires extensive sitting, walking, pushing, pulling, repetitive movements, and frequent stooping. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Job requires a regular drivers license.
