Job description
Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, handtrucks,
forklifts, or transfer augers. Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions, powders,
or seeds into planter or sprayer machinery. Spray fertilizer or pesticide solutions to control
insects, fungus and weed growth, and diseases, using hand sprayers. Observe and listen to
machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Manipulate controls to set, activate,
and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Operate or tend equipment used in agricultural
production, such as tractors, combines, and other agricultural equipment used to apply fertilizer
or chemical products for crop production. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify
supervisors when machinery malfunctions. Attach farm implements such as plows, discs,
sprayers, or harvesters to tractors, using bolts and hand tools. Load hoppers, containers, or
conveyors to feed machines with products, using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates,
shovels, or pitchforks. Weigh crop-filled containers, and record weights and other identifying
information. Drive commercial vehicles, such as tractor/trailer combination to haul grain and/or
deliver fertilizer or chemical products to the farm for crop production, pick-up trucks to haul
supplies, tools, or farm workers.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme
temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive walking is required. Frequent stooping is required. Repetitive movements is required. Overtime and taking holiday is mandatory.
Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English. Employees must adhere to strict
biosecurity, company policies, and food safety guidelines, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Certain roles may require a valid drivers license within 30 days of hire and a clean driving
