Job description

This job primarily requires crop production by the worker.

This is an application for heathers, vines, ground covers, perennials, and ornamental grasses.

Crops and varieties: Abies, Acer, Araucaria, Buxus, Carpinus, Cedrus, Cephalotaxus, Chamaecyparis, Cornus, Cryptomeria, Fagus, Ginkgo, Ilex, Juniperus, Osmanthus, Picea, Pinus, Prunus, Taxus, Thuja. These crops listed may or may not be planted and Employer is not limited to only these crops listed.

Job duties of a crop production laborer include:
• Plant small trees in rows by hand. This requires the person to be bending all day.
• Counting inventory
• Labeling plants
• Grading plant size and quality
• Preparing soil and growth media
• Hauling and spreading topsoil, fertilizer, peat moss, and other materials to condition land
• Digging, raking and screening soil
• Filling growing tanks with water
• Hand irrigation
• Loading trucks and trailers
• Crimping wire baskets

Special Requirements

This is an application for heathers, vines, ground covers, perennials, and ornamental grasses.
4a) Must be able to lift and/or load 50 lbs.
4b) Work may take place when temperatures are below freezing and above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
4c) May require extensive pulling and/or pushing of tools, wheelbarrows, etc.
4d) May require worker to sit and/or walk for extensive periods of time while sorting, examining, weeding, transporting, pruning, etc.
4e) Workers will be required to stoop and/or bend over while performing farm labor such as weeding, irrigating, pruning, removing debris, etc.
4f) There will be repetitive movements while performing most of the farm labor duties, for example sorting, pruning, shoveling, weeding, etc.
Experience required:
Laborers are expected to wear long pants and slip-resistant boots.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds continuously throughout the shift. According to the Oregon State Health Authority (OSHA), two or more people will perform lifts over 50 lbs.
