Job description
Worker will be required to perform a variety of duties found in SOC Code 45-2092 Farmworkers and Laborers, Crop, Nursery, and Greenhouse such as: Harvest, grade, and pack spring cut flowers by hand; Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops; Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; Set up, repair, maintain, and operate irrigation equipment such as preparing levees and drainage areas, carrying and setting up poly pipe, using shovel to unblock pip and to clean culverts and ditch banks; Operate tractors, tractor-drawn machinery, and self-propelled machinery such as cotton module builder to plow, harrow and fertilize soil, or to plant, cultivate, spray and harvest crops such as cotton, corn, soybeans, and flowers; Load agricultural products into trucks without over or underfilling bed or trailer, and drive to market or storage facilities; Clean work areas and maintain grounds and landscaping; Repair farm buildings, fences, and other structures; Dig with shovel and separate with knife up to 10,000 roots. Must speak and understand English. Approximate staggered entry: 12 workers to begin Feb 27 and 22 workers to begin April 6.
Special Requirements
Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
