Job description

Employees will operate modern agricultural machinery for seeding, fertilizing, tillage, and harvesting operations on Peterson Farms' 2,600 acres of wheat, canola, soybeans, and corn. Job duties include drainage improvements, rock picking, and property maintenance. Workers are expected to handle machinery setup, maintenance, and minor repairs to ensure continued safe and effective operation. The work involves exposure to outdoor weather conditions and physical labor. Flexibility is required as tasks may shift due to seasonal or weather-related changes. Employees must be capable of completing all listed tasks and willing to learn and adapt to Peterson Farms' specific procedures and agricultural techniques. A standard U.S. driver’s license is preferred for local operation of farm vehicles on private property and short public roads. No commercial driver’s license (CDL) is required for any aspect of the job.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced LevelPursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
