Job description
Workers are required to have Level II (Experienced) skills and a minimum of 12 months prior experience operating agricultural equipment relevant to grain and row crop farming. Duties include operating and driving a variety of farm machinery such as tractors, combines, sprayers, planters, and grain handling equipment to plant, cultivate, and harvest crops. Responsibilities also involve routine equipment maintenance, including pre- and post-operation checks, cleaning, and minor repairs. Workers must monitor equipment performance, ensure proper calibration, and safely navigate fields while avoiding crop damage. Additional tasks include setting up and maintaining irrigation systems, performing pest and weed control, inspecting crops, and assisting with loading and unloading harvested grain for transport or storage. Employees must be prepared to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks involving standing, bending, lifting, and repetitive motion. This position requires strict adherence to safety protocols and an ability to work efficiently during peak seasonal demand. Workers must be adaptable, follow directions, and work both independently and as part of a team.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
