Farmworker / Laborer

Job description

Duties include pruning, planting, trimming, trellising and grafting apples, as well as general farm work. Workers will be required to perform repetitive physical activities including, but not limited to, prolonged walking, standing, heavy bending, stooping, climbing, reaching and heavy lifting, which will be involved on a regular basis. The activities will be performed under extreme weather conditions such as heat, direct sunlight, cold weather, possible rain, wind and exposure to pollen. Workers must be able to perform all job duties in safe manner. Workers must be careful to handle tools, equipment and product in a manner to avoid injury or damage. Workers will be expected to perform job duties in a timely and proficient manner.

Workers will perform assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Duties may vary from time to time. In order to perform this kind of work, the worker must be able to work outside for at least 7 hours a day in all kinds of weather and be in possession of the requisite physical strength and endurance to repeat the work activities rapidly, working quickly and skillfully with their hands. Special Requirements

Workers must adhere to all safety rules as instructed by supervisors and practice safety in all aspects of work. The employer is a drug-free workplace and has a zero-tolerance policy for drugs and alcohol in the workplace and in the employer-provided housing. Bilingual in English is a plus but not a requirement.
