Job description
The worker will operate a variety of modern agricultural equipment to support seasonal grain crop production, including land preparation, seeding, crop management, harvesting, and post-harvest fieldwork. Duties include driving and controlling tractors, combines, and other large machinery to till soil, plant, fertilize, spray, harvest, and transport crops on the farm. The worker will be responsible for attaching and detaching implements such as plows, discs, drills, and sprayers; calibrating and setting up equipment based on crop and field conditions; and conducting routine maintenance to ensure safe and efficient operation. Tasks will be performed under varying weather and field conditions and must follow employer instructions precisely. The worker may be required to transport harvested crops within the farm premises and assist with storage activities. Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards are essential. The role requires previous experience operating complex farm machinery, as equipment is technologically advanced and critical to meeting tight seasonal deadlines. The worker must be able to follow schedules aligned with seasonal cycles and respond flexibly to weather-related work demands. Duties may also include minor mechanical troubleshooting and coordination with farm supervisors to ensure optimal field productivity and equipment utilization throughout the agricultural season. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
