Job description

The job involves performing temporary and seasonal agricultural labor associated with grain farming operations in North Dakota. Workers will operate agricultural equipment and assist with manual farm labor customary and normal to the production of row crops. Duties include supporting planting, field preparation, cultivation, and routine crop production activities during the spring and summer seasons. During the fall harvest period, workers will assist with harvesting activities and related tasks necessary to ensure the timely completion of the crop cycle and prevent crop loss. Workers will operate and assist with farm machinery used in grain farming operations and perform general field work directly related to crop production. Tasks are performed on the farm or in connection with normal agricultural operations and may vary based on weather conditions and seasonal crop needs. The work is physically demanding and performed outdoors, with duties directly tied to the agricultural season. The position is temporary in nature and limited to the agricultural season, ending upon completion of the crop cycle. All work performed is directly related to grain farming and is consistent with the normal and customary operations of a seasonal row crop farm. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
