Job description

Workers will performed assigned duties as instructed by their supervisor. Workers will perform duties such as driving, operating farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest, and store grain crops such as soybeans, corn, and rice. Workers will attach farm implements such as plow, disc, and drill to tractor. Workers will till soil to plant and cultivate grain crops. Workers will tow harvesting equipment. Workers will drive, operate, or use the following farming equipment and tools: self-propelled combine, 4x4 tractor, front wheel assist tractor, 2wd tractor, forklift, tele handler, backhoe, track hoe, crane, lift truck, fuel truck, semi-truck, 1 ton truck, 2 ton bob truck, pickup truck, ATV SXS, bulldozer, plasma cutter, drill, lathe, air seeder, twin row planter, single row planter, 3 pt. drill, field cultivators, Kelley tool, land plain, dirt buggy, dike plow, roller, mower, 3 pt. blade, grain cart, roll a cone, chisel plow, multi grater, welder, torch, miscellaneous hand tools. Workers will drive grain truck to transport crops to elevator or storage area. CDL is not required since workers will drive less than 150 air-mile radius of the farm, and they will not drive across state lines. Gross Vehicle weight does not exceed 26,000 lbs. Workers will perform a variety of other duties including: lubricating, doing minor repairs, and maintaining farm machinery when necessary. May drive company’s vehicles to transport workers to field and grocery store.

Special Requirements

Must be 18 years or older. The company may conduct criminal background checks pre-hire at the employers expense. No minimum education required. Minimum of 2-month experience on operating farm machinery, planting, cultivating, and harvesting grain crops such as Soybeans, Corn, and Rice. It is recommended that you have experience with Agricultural Equipment and knowledge of Agricultural Field work due to safety reasons related to possible equipment injury, heat stroke possibility, and food safety. Valid Drivers license required to operate farms vehicles or Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30-90 days of hire. The majority of the workday is spent on ones feet and outdoors. Must be able to lift up to 60 lbs. Workers should come prepared wearing appropriate clothing and footwear for the environmental and working conditions described. All tools, supplies and equipment will be provided at no cost to workers. Workers may stand in one place for any period of time.
