Job description
We need seasonal employees to assist with our farming operation where we grow corn and soybeans. Employees will help with all aspects of crop production, including preparing fields for planting, attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, or harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools, and operating tractors, planters, sprayers, and other farm equipment. Duties include planting, weeding, spraying, and harvesting crops; fertilizing, dusting, and spraying to control insects, fungus, weeds, and diseases using hand sprayers or other equipment; and loading or unloading crops and materials manually or with conveyors, forklifts, or transfer augers. Employees will also load hoppers, containers, or conveyors to feed machines using forklifts, transfer augers, suction gates, shovels, or pitchforks; manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust machinery mechanisms; observe and listen to equipment to detect malfunctions; and walk beside or ride on planting machines while inserting plants into planter mechanisms at specified intervals. Additional duties include attaching equipment extensions or accessories, hauling crops, supplies, and tools with pickup trucks, recording agricultural data, and inspecting, adjusting, and performing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.
Special Requirements
Job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures, extensive pushing or pulling, extensive sitting or walking, repetitive movements. Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must have a regular driver's license. Require 1 month farm experience.
