Job description

Workers will perform a combination of equipment operation, livestock care, and general farm duties during the period of need. Job duties include, but is not limited to:
Prepare fields for planting using tractors, tillage implements, and field cultivators.
Operate planters, seeders, and sprayers for row-crop and forage production.
Mix and apply fertilizers, herbicides, and pesticides under supervision.
Monitor crop progress, irrigation systems, and soil moisture levels.
Assist with cutting, raking, baling and stacking alfalfa hay.
Operate combines, grain carts, trucks and other harvest equipment during harvest season.
Transport harvested crops to storage facilities or local elevators using semi-trucks or grain trucks.
Clean grain bins and maintain farm storage areas.
Feed cattle using tractors and feed wagons or skid steers.
Assist with calving, including observation, assisting with difficult births, and care of newborn calves.
Process newborn calves: tagging, weighing, vaccinating, and castrating as directed.
Move and sort cattle using alleyways, chutes, and corrals.
Check cattle daily for health, injury, and adequate feed and water.
Repair and maintain fences, gates, and water systems in pastures and lots.
Haul livestock using farm trucks or trailers as needed.
Operate tractors, loaders, skid steers, combines, grain carts, semi-trucks, and trailers.
Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment (oil changes, lubrication, filter replacement, tire repair.
Clean and maintain barns, corrals, and equipment sheds.
Assist farmyard upkeep.
