Job description

Workers will perform a range of seasonal tasks on a diversified crop farm specializing in potatoes, peas, sweet corn, snap beans, soybeans, rye, and field corn. Responsibilities include operating and maintaining large-scale agricultural equipment with GPS guidance systems, such as tractors, planters, and harvesters, to prepare potato seed, plant, till, cultivate, irrigate, and harvest crops. Duties also involve transporting crops to storage facilities and conducting post-harvest fieldwork and maintenance of machinery. Workers will assist with installing, monitoring, and maintaining center pivot irrigation systems across irrigated acreage. All activities must be performed with precision to avoid crop damage and ensure efficiency and safety. Workers are expected to follow instructions from supervisors, complete assignments in a timely manner, and maintain cleanliness and functionality of equipment. Prior experience with similar agricultural machinery and tools is necessary due to the fast-paced and time-sensitive nature of the operation. Workers may also be required to carry out additional duties reasonably related to the production of assigned crops, consistent with the role of an agricultural equipment operator during the peak season from March through December .

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Applicants must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds and will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Operator License Class D is required; workers will have 60 days from hire to obtain it. The role requires prior related experience, independent judgment in recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. The employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits, at the employers sole discretion, in addition to those listed in the job order. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction, if approved and disclosed in the job order, as permitted under program regulations.

Did you know that... there are 2 types of H-2 visas?

Agricultural workers get H-2A visas. H-2B workers are in non-agricultural jobs like construction.
