Job description

SEASONAL WORK (February 15 – December 15, 2026)

From February through December, our workload increases sharply due to calving, caring for feeder cattle, pasture management, crop planting, hay production, grazing rotations, weaning, and fall harvest. This is our peak season and requires additional labor.

1. Livestock Work (February–December)

Assist with calving (February–May) and care for newborn calves.

Feed, water, and check health of cows, heifers, calves, feeders, and yearlings.

Tag, vaccinate, and process animals as needed.

Move and sort cattle for pasture, weaning, and shipping.

Help with artificial insemination starting in June.

Maintain clean barns, pens, bedding, waterers, and fences.

2. Pasture Work (Spring–Fall)

Monitor cattle on grass daily.

Check grass/forage levels and rotate pastures.

Repair and maintain fencing and gates.

Keep water sources open and supply mineral, salt, and fly control.

3. Crop & Hay Work (Spring–Fall)

Prepare fields and plant corn.

Operate tractors, planters, balers, and harvest equipment.

Cut, rake, bale, haul, and stack hay and alfalfa.

Monitor and harvest the corn crop.

Plant fall cover crop after harvest.

4. General Farm Work

Repair barns, equipment, and water systems.

Clean lots, maintain yards, and perform simple daily repairs.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Employer shall Provide Necessary Training to worker. Workers Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers' expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 75 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Extensive walking is required. Repetitive movements is required.
