Job description
Workers will assist with seasonal crop production activities on a 4,000-acre corn farm in Walsh County, North Dakota, from March through December. Primary duties include operating various agricultural equipment for planting, cultivating, fertilizing, spraying, and harvesting corn. Workers will help prepare fields by performing tasks such as tilling soil, clearing debris, and setting up irrigation systems. During the growing season, workers will monitor crop health, apply pesticides or fertilizers as instructed, and assist with maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance. At harvest, workers will operate combines, grain carts, and other harvesting machinery to collect and transport crops. Post-harvest tasks may include cleaning and servicing equipment, performing minor repairs, and assisting with storage and cleanup. Workers will also support general farm upkeep and may be required to load or unload materials. Duties are physically demanding and will be performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. No prior experience is required; workers will receive necessary instruction and safety training to perform assigned tasks. Work schedules average 40 hours per week over 5 days, but may vary based on weather or crop conditions. Reliability, physical stamina, and the ability to follow directions and safety procedures are essential for success in this position. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
Special Requirements
No experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level I Entry Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level I Entry Level, indicating that the job requires limited experience and routine supervision consistent with entry-level duties. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
