Job description
Employees will operate a variety of agricultural equipment to perform seasonal crop production activities on a 1,300-acre irrigated crop farm producing corn, soybeans, and alfalfa. Work begins in early March with equipment service and maintenance, including oil changes, lubrication, and field-readiness inspections. Workers will assist in loading and staging agricultural inputs such as fertilizer in preparation for field application. Throughout the growing season, employees will be responsible for operating tractors and implements for planting, fertilizing, spraying, and irrigation support. Responsibilities include monitoring and addressing equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime. All work will be performed using employer-owned equipment and tools and on-site. Job requires ability to follow directions and safety protocols. Workers must be able to operate farm machinery in a safe and effective manner, perform minor mechanical repairs, and lift equipment or materials as needed. This is a temporary, seasonal position aligned with the spring planting through fall harvest cycle. Workers must be physically capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions and able to perform repetitive tasks with precision. The position requires a Skill Level II (Experienced) agricultural equipment operator familiar with irrigated row crop production and use of modern farming machinery. Prior experience with similar crop operations is essential.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced LevelPursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
