Ag Equipment Operator

Job description

Duties may include: Drive tractor for field work of all types associated with crop farming. Perform field maintenance including but not limited to mowing, scraping, land leveling and forming, seeding cover crops, picking sticks. Cultivate and harvest row crops. Run harvesters for potatoes, sugar beets, and small grains, beet carts, roto beaters. Drive truck from the field to the point of delivery or storage. Run and operate other harvest equipment, potato pilers, grain augers, dumping trucks at receiving stations, and many other harvest operations. Spray crops and keeping detailed records of chemical applications, drive water truck, help fill and mix chemicals. Drive support vehicles for delivering fuel and lubricants to the tractors and other farm machinery. Clean and repair grain bins and grain handling equipment. Perform shop work, i.e. wash and clean all types of farm vehicles and equipment. Perform oil changes, general equipment maintenance, grease/lube, etc. Clean and organize shops and other out buildings used in the support and storage of farm equipment and trucks. Maintain rodent control in the yard and buildings with various methods, bait stations, traps, etc. Mow and maintain landscaping, weed and tree removal. Maintenance/painting/cleaning work on buildings and housing used in the farming operations. Crops: wheat, soybeans, corn, potatoes, sugar beets, dry edible beans & other related Ag Equipment Operator activities as per SOC/OES 45-2091 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

Special Requirements

Must be 18 years of age. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 70lbs (possible 2-person); may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified. Variable weather conditions may apply. Worker must be able to obtain a valid US Driver's License within 2 weeks of reporting to work and possess/maintain a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR). Bonus potential based on work performance at the sole discretion of the employer. Employees are expected to keep employer-provided vehicles clean and free of trash.
