Job description
Employees will perform a variety of general farm duties supporting the production of crops including sugar beets, wheat, corn, soybeans, edible beans, and canola. Work will primarily occur from April through November, coinciding with planting, spraying, fieldwork, and harvest seasons. Workers will operate various types of agricultural equipment including, but not limited to, tractors with tillage attachments, grain carts, combines, and trucks. They will be responsible for safe and efficient operation of machinery for tillage, planting, harvesting, and transportation of crops. Duties also include assisting with activities at the bin site, such as loading and unloading trucks and maintaining records. Workers may perform repairs and maintenance of agricultural equipment and vehicles in the shop as needed to ensure continuous operations during critical production periods. Employees must be able to handle the physical demands of the role and work in variable weather conditions. Skill Level 2 with at least 3 months experience required.
Special Requirements
Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
