Job description
This position involves operating farm equipment to support the planting, cultivation, and harvesting of agricultural crops. Workers will operate and monitor machinery such as tractors, loaders, harvesters, and related farm equipment used in crop production. Duties include preparing fields, assisting with crop planting, cultivating crops, and harvesting crops in a timely and efficient manner.
The Equipment Operator will be responsible for the routine care and maintenance of equipment, including cleaning, fueling, lubricating, and identifying minor mechanical issues. Workers must promptly report any mechanical problems or safety concerns to the employer and may perform minor repairs and adjustments as instructed.
Additional responsibilities include assisting with general farm operations as needed, maintaining a safe work environment, and following all safety procedures while operating equipment. Work is performed outdoors in varying weather conditions. The position requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and the ability to safely operate equipment for extended periods throughout the agricultural season.
Special Requirements
Hours listed in Section A.6 are the anticipated hours to be worked. The employer may offer additional work hours or these hours could increase or decrease based on weather conditions, crop delay, pests or disease, crop yield, available labor, and or productivity. Use of electronic devices during work hours is restricted to emergencies only.
