Job description

Workers will provide daily care for live animals, including bovids and other livestock species. Duties include feeding, watering, and monitoring animals; assisting with livestock reproduction including weaning, assisting during births, and hand-raising offspring; weighing animals using scales; catching, herding, and moving animals to and from enclosures; and conducting daily physical observations to detect illness, injury, or abnormalities, particularly in newborn and young animals. Workers will clean and disinfect animal stalls, pens, yards, and equipment using hand tools, pressure washers, and approved disinfectants in accordance with biosecurity protocols. Workers must follow strict animal handling and sanitation standards at all times. Additional duties include maintaining animal enclosures and grounds, including removing fallen trees or brush, operating tractors and utility equipment for weed control and facility maintenance, and performing physically demanding outdoor labor in all weather conditions. Work requires frequent lifting, bending, crouching, and extended periods of standing and walking. Employees must be comfortable working closely with large animals and performing physically strenuous tasks on a daily basis.

Special Requirements

Two (2) months of recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a random drug test at no cost to the worker. Testing positive or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
