Job description

Bus Drivers/Crew Leads:

Bus Drivers are responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of farmworkers to and from work sites and other designated agricultural worksites. This role involves various driving duties essential to farm operations, primarily using buses, shuttles, vans, and agricultural trucks owned or operated by the employer. Job duties include:
Safely operate buses and passenger vehicles to transport farmworkers between employer-provided housing or central pick-up points and work sites.
Conduct driving duties on and around farm properties during workdays, strictly adhering to all traffic regulations and safety standards.
Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks, including tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment, to ensure the vehicles remain in optimal working condition.
Test vehicle equipment (lights, brakes, horns, windshield wipers) to confirm proper operation.
Regulate internal systems (heating, cooling, lighting, and ventilation) for passenger comfort.
Ensure all passengers comply with safety regulations.
Complete accident reports when necessary.
Report any vehicle malfunctions or needed repairs promptly.
Operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner while complying with all traffic regulations.
Conduct pre and post trip inspections and safety checks
Special Qualifications:
A valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Passenger Endorsement is required to operate buses.
Valid FLC or FLCE registration card with driving authorization (blue card)
Medical exam certificate
2 months verifiable experience as a bus driver

Crew Leaders:

Crew leaders: Report directly to the foreman/supervisor and have no authority to hire, fire, or discipline field workers. Direct and monitor the work of seasonal field workers. Tasks include demonstrating proper techniques, ensuring presence of drinking water and hydration stations, monitoring adherence to required break and heat safety rules, monitor time sheets and productivity, informing supervisor of performance issues in the field, as well as crop and weather conditions, maintaining inventory, ordering materials, and relaying daily assignments and tasks to seasonal field workers.

The employer reserves the right to pay a higher hourly rate and/or bonuses to workers performing this job duty at its sole discretion and guarantees at least $18.22 per hour (domestic) and $16.47 (H-2A).

Farmworkers:

Crops: Bell peppers, Hot Peppers, Cucumbers, Eggplant, Squashes, Watermelons, Cabbages, Tobacco, Zucchini, Lemons, Sweet potatoes, Oranges, Peppers, Peas, tomatoes, butterbeans, green beans, small grain, okra, broccoli, corn, carrots, asparagus, cantaloupe, blueberries, onions, pumpkins, and sugar cane.

Hand harvest into buckets or other containers, taking caution to not damage the berries or bushes.
Use hand tools shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, machetes, pruning hooks, shears and knives. Operate and ride on equipment to manually plant seeds or plants into the ground and cover with dirt. Cultivating. Walk behind the machine making sure all holes are filled and covered. Operate tractors to harvest crops and pull trailer in field during harvest. Operate forklifts to move produce around field and from field to storage.

Walk behind tractor pulling trailer with orange trees, place tree in pre-dug hole, and cover with dirt using a shovel. Prune orange trees according to supervisor's instruction. String peppers, cucumbers, and eggplant.

Special Requirements

3 months experience as a bus driver and crew lead required. Perform prolonged walking, bending, sitting,
reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, lifting and carrying up to 60 lbs. repeatedly. Perform repetitive
movements. Work outside in inclement weather, including cold, hot, and/or wet weather for extensive
periods of time. Employer-paid post-hire drug testing is required upon reasonable suspicion of use
and after a worker has an accident at work.
