Job description

The Livestock Worker is responsible for the daily care, feeding, and management of farm animals to ensure their health, safety, and productivity. This role requires hands-on work with animals, maintenance of housing facilities, and support with breeding, birthing, and recordkeeping tasks. The ideal candidate demonstrates dependability, physical stamina, and a strong commitment to animal welfare. Main responsibilities are feed, water, and monitor livestock to maintain proper nutrition and health. Clean and maintain barns, pens, pastures, and feeding equipment. Assist with breeding, calving, lambing, or farrowing as required. Administer basic animal health treatments under supervision (vaccinations, medications, wound care). Observe animals for signs of illness, injury, or abnormal behavior and report concerns promptly. Move, sort, and load livestock safely and humanely. Operate and maintain farm machinery and equipment related to livestock care. Maintain accurate records of animal health, feed consumption, and production. Follow biosecurity and safety protocols at all times. Assist with general farm duties as assigned.
