Job description
FARM EQUIPMENT OPERATOR:
Worker will be required to complete the following activities as directed by supervisor: operate farm equipment, including forklifts, tractors, tractors with attachments, harvesters, and trucks to complete farm tasks; spray crops with tractor and spray attachment; load, haul, and unload harvested crops on farm or to employer-owned storage; transport employers crops to market and storage locations with all locations allowing workers to reasonably return within same workday; inspect, maintain, prepare and repair farm equipment; drive Employer-provided vehicle to and from the worksite and to locations within 30 miles; wash, sanitize, and repair harvesting bins; repair deer fence and drain tile; install or repair irrigation systems; maintain grounds, landscaping, and farm buildings; assist with additional duties related to crop planting, care and harvest.
Worker will lift up to 75 lbs. and team lifting is required for weights over 75 lbs.
Pay will be hourly.
Other duties assigned under this order will be consistent under Bureau of Labor Statistics Standard Occupational Classification: Agricultural Equipment Operators (45–2091)
Special Requirements
Experience Requirement: 3 verifiable month(s) of commercial agriculture equipment operator experience of minimum 80 horsepower required. Applicants must furnish job references from employers of the last 3 years establishing acceptable prior experience.
Job requires worker to complete tasks in agriculture equipment operation and general farm labor of asparagus, broccoli, carrots, cherries, corn, pumpkins, rye, snap beans, soybeans, squash, wheat and zucchini. Employer will provide instructions and training on specific job duties.
Season Commitment: Job offered requires worker be available for work for entire employment period.
Work Rule Violations: Worker may be disciplined and/or terminated for cause for violating work rules provided at orientation.
Drug testing done at employers expense and not utilized as a pre-employment tool.
