Job description

We need seasonal employees to assist with our corn, wheat, sorghum, millet, cotton, and cucumber crop production season. Employees will perform all assigned duties related to growing these crops, including preparing fields for planting; attaching farm implements such as plows, discs, sprayers, seed drills, and harvesters to tractors using bolts and hand tools; operating tractors, planters, sprayers, manure spreaders, combines, irrigation equipment, and other farm machinery; planting, cultivating, weeding, spraying, fertilizing, irrigating, and harvesting crops; applying fertilizer and pesticide solutions to control insects, fungus, weeds, and diseases; irrigating soil using portable pipes or ditch systems and maintaining ditches, pipes, pumps, and pivot irrigation systems; loading and unloading crops and materials manually or with conveyors, forklifts, augers, suction gates, hand trucks, shovels, or pitchforks; loading hoppers and guiding products on conveyors while removing diseased or damaged products; adjusting, activating, and monitoring equipment controls to ensure proper operation and detect malfunctions; hauling crops, supplies, tools, livestock, or materials using trucks and tractor-trailer combinations exceeding three tons; inspecting, loading, securing, coupling, and uncoupling trailers and cargo; performing basic vehicle inspections, maintenance, and emergency roadside repairs; recording required agricultural, operational, delivery, and production data; and completing routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, vehicles, irrigation systems, plumbing, and sprinkler systems. Additional duties include inspecting, diagnosing, disassembling, fabricating, repairing, testing, lubricating, and reassembling mechanical and electrical equipment and components using hand tools, machine tools, and welding equipment; transporting tools and machinery to and from repair sites; maintaining accurate repair and maintenance records; and assisting with loading and unloading operations as needed. The employer, at its sole discretion, may grant pay increases based on factors such as performance, longevity, and/or experience. Employer may also, at its sole discretion, offer performance-based incentive bonuses that are not guaranteed and are determined by the employer.

Special Requirements

The employer will conduct post-hire drug testing at no cost to the employee to enforce a drug-free workplace policy; failure to pass a drug test will result in termination of employment. The employer will also conduct post-hire criminal background checks at no cost to the employee and will not employ individuals with felony or theft-related criminal convictions, in accordance with workplace safety policies, company hiring practices, and applicable law. The job requires exposure to extreme outdoor temperatures; extensive pushing or pulling; prolonged sitting or walking; frequent stooping or bending; and repetitive movements. A valid, regular drivers license is required. Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
