Job description

Workers will assist with all aspects of grain crop farming, including wheat, barley, canola, field peas, and soybeans, across approximately 5,300 acres. In early spring, duties include preparing fields and machinery for planting, which involves tillage, seeding, and fertilizer application using various agricultural equipment. During the growing season, workers will monitor crop health, assist with pesticide and herbicide application as directed, and perform general farm maintenance. Workers must carry out routine upkeep of equipment to ensure operational efficiency. As harvest approaches, duties shift to operating combines, grain carts, and trucks to transport crops from the field to storage facilities. Workers will be responsible for post-harvest fieldwork and cleaning and servicing equipment in preparation for winter storage. The job requires experience operating large farm machinery and performing tasks with precision and timeliness, especially during critical planting and harvesting windows. Weather and crop conditions may affect the work schedule. Workers must be adaptable, follow instructions accurately, and complete assigned tasks efficiently to protect crop quality and meet production goals. All tools and equipment necessary to perform the job will be provided, and training on farm-specific equipment and procedures will be offered as needed. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced LevelPursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
