Job description

Crops/Commodities: Apples/Blueberries.
Work on farm includes construction and repair of barns, sheds, greenhouses, and other structures, and the installation of infrastructure.
The work involves lifting heavy objects, walking, maintaining balance, bending, moving materials, climbing ladders, and working at heights while using fall protection equipment. Workers must be able to lift weights up to 75 pounds and lifting them to height of 5 feet. Workers must work on their feet and in a bent position for extended periods. The work requires repetitive movements and prolonged walking.
The work is performed outdoors for extended periods. Work is required in light rain, moderate wind, direct sunlight, high humidity, and extreme temperatures. Temperatures during working hours may range from 10 to 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
Workers are expected to measure, mark, and record distances/openings to ensure accurate layout of work areas, and to read plans, instructions, and specifications to determine assigned work tasks.
Workers may install heaters/fans, electrical/propane systems; may work with hand/power tools of all kinds, including pneumatic hammers, tampers, concrete mixers, small mechanical lifts, surveying/measuring equipment, and variety of other equipment and devices.
Workers are required to safely operate equipment, hand tools, construction tools, with or without supervision.
Workers are expected to be able to operate agricultural and other machinery with or without supervision for the construction of necessary farm structures. Workers will operate/maintain pumps, compressors, generators, related equipment used to power tools/machinery; move, heat, place materials such as asphalt, concrete, grout, cement, plaster, putty; lubricate, clean, repair machinery, equipment, tools.
Work involves constructing structures using concrete blocks, wood/metal frames, metal panels, siding. Responsibilities include mixing, pouring, laying, spreading, consolidating, and finishing concrete and masonry materials using hand tools, power tools, portable mixers; applying paint, cleaning agents, other compounds with a mop, brush, or trowel.
Work involves laying, reinforcing, protecting monolithic reinforced concrete or masonry structures; installing doors, large barn doors, windows, steel and wooden frames; installing plastic, metal, and other coverings, shade cloth, and sealing structures.
Workers will smooth/finish freshly poured concrete using trowels, floats, screeds, and power finishing equipment; apply sealants/protective coatings.
Workers will load, unload, mark construction materials, equipment, tools; distribute them to appropriate locations according to project documentation or specifications; clear/prepare sites, dig trenches, install supports to stabilize excavation sites, erect scaffolding, remove debris, trash, and other material.
Workers expected to place, level, connect, seal, erect, dismantle, remove structural elements, concrete forms, scaffolding, props, braces, road barriers, ramps, and/or other temporary structures.
This position requires digging trenches/ditches; backfilling excavations; compacting/leveling soil to appropriate standards; installing sewer, water, storm and drain pipes using pipe-laying equipment or laser guidance. Work includes clearing site for construction, installing and repairing fences (posts, panels/mesh, gates/fittings, picket fences); preparing the base and installing paving stones/stone paths/driveways; installation drainage lines; installing/repairing irrigation lines/sprinklers/emitters and valve boxes; checking slopes, basic leak testing.

Construction laborers may assist skilled tradesmen such as carpenters, bricklayers, and plasterers; support demolition work, including the demolition of structures and sorting of reusable materials.
All construction performed by workers will be on the farm and is all for the farm.

Special Requirements

This job requires a minimum of 12 months experience working in construction/building, handling both manual and mechanized tasks. Applicants must be able to furnish verifiable job reference(s) or comparable third party documentation or from recent employer(s) establishing acceptable prior experience. Workers must be able to perform all tasks with accuracy and efficiency. Saturday work required. Must be able to lift/carry 75 lbs. Employer-paid background checks and employer paid post-hire, random and upon suspicion drug testing and alcohol testing required after hiring and upon reasonable suspicion of use. Workers must be able to speak and write basic Russian in order to communicate with managers. Workers are required to have a clean driving record and have a valid drivers license in order to be hired.
