Job description

Wash and clip cows in preparation for calving, assist in delivery of offspring, assist in artificial insemination. Castrate calves. Examine animals to detect disease or injury. Monitor heat detection of livestock. Vaccinate animals and apply medicine when needed. Herd and confine cattle within stalls. Spray cattle with insecticide. Mix feed and additives, fill feed troughs and water cattle. Clean stalls and sheds. Maintain breeding, feeding and cost records. Herd cattle to pasture. Plant, cultivate and harvest feed grain for stock. No milking of the livestock will be performed during the period of intended employment & other related Farm Worker activities as per SOC/OES 45-2093 (onetonline.org).

Possible weekend/holiday work.

Special Requirements

Must be 18 due to equipment use. Worker has 3 days from date of hire to show proof of legal authorization to work in the United States. Drug/alcohol/tobacco free work zone. Static strength; exert max muscle force to lift, push, pull, unload, carry objects up to 50lbs; may climb, walk, stand, reach, balance, sit, stoop, bend, squat, wash, clean: equip, grounds, area. All applicants must be able, willing and qualified to perform work described and must be available for the entire period specified. Based on Employer's discretion/cost: Worker may have random drug/alcohol testing during employment: positive test/refusal to abide = dismissal. Variable weather conditions may apply.
