Job description

Work hours are 6:00am to 1:00pm (Monday-Saturday) with a one (1) hour unpaid lunch. Workers will perform duties related to planting, cultivating and harvesting rice, sugarcane and soybeans. For the majority of the workdays during the contract period and occasionally repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; operate machinery to plow, harrow, plant, cultivate and harvest crops. Workers must be physically able to perform all described work. Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 pounds. Workers must abide by all posted work and safety rules. Perform physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials. All tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the duties assigned are provided to the worker, without charge or deposit. Hours may fluctuate due to weather conditions or mechanical breakdowns but will not reduce the 3/4 guarantee over the life of the contract. Possibility of work breakdown will not reduce workers guarantee over the life of the contract.

Special Requirements

Housing is provided, subject to allowable deduction. The job opportunity is subject to the applicable H-2A adverse compensation adjustment of -$1.35. Worker will be charged a reasonable cost for any willful damage to housing, furnishing or tools. Once hired, workers may be required to take a random drug test (at no cost to the worker), as part of fitness for duty and workers safety. Drug testing relates to safety assurance in a working environment. Testing positive or failure to comply with the random drug testing may result in immediate termination from employment.
