Job description

I have 6700 acre row crop/ cattle operation. I primarily grow 2500 acres of cotton, both dryland and irrigated with center pivots and subsurface drip irrigation. I also grow hay, wheat, milo, and corn in rotation. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: apply products such as fertilizers, pesticides, growth inhibitors, etc; attach/detach implements; clean work areas; feel plants/crops leaves and note coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease; haul and spread materials such as but not limited to fertilizer to condition the soil; identify plants, crops, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers; inform farm managers of plants or crops progress; load and unload materials and commodities; maintain grounds and landscaping; mix materials, dump solutions or seeds into planter, spreader, sprayer type machinery; operate self propelled machinery; repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment; tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, pruning crops; use hand tools such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, pruning hooks, shears, loppers, and knives; use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools; work in extreme temperatures; repair and maintain irrigation systems. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with
the duties being performed: air seeders, augers, bins, silos, loading and unloading facilities, bailers and other hay equipment, combines or other harvesting equipment, cotton stripper/picker, GPS guidance systems, grain carts, forklift, irrigation equipment,
mowers and other landscaping equipment, pickups, cars, etc, planters, self-propelled machinery, skid steers, sprayers, spreaders, swathers, bailers, and other hay equipment, tillage equipment, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: corn, cotton, grain sorghum, hay, wheat. Must speak and understand English.

Special Requirements

Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 100 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
