Job description
The worker will assist with seasonal field operations on a spring wheat farm located in Starkweather, North Dakota. Duties include preparing fields through tillage, operating tractors and other agricultural machinery for seeding and fertilizing, and performing crop maintenance activities such as monitoring growth and addressing pests or weeds. During harvest, the worker will operate combines and related equipment to collect crops efficiently and safely. The position requires familiarity with large-scale farm equipment, including routine maintenance and minor repairs to ensure optimal function during peak season. Work will occur entirely on the employer’s farm or approved agricultural worksites and will follow a schedule based on weather and crop readiness. The role is physically demanding and may include long hours during busy periods. Due to the short planting and harvesting window typical in North Dakota’s climate, all tasks must be completed in a timely manner to ensure crop success. The worker is expected to perform duties independently after initial orientation and may be assigned additional tasks that are customary and consistent with the seasonal operations of the farm. All activities are essential to the timely and successful production of the farm’s wheat crop throughout the contract period from March 16 to November 10, 2026. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.
