Job description
Assist with a variety of agricultural labor services such as tree farming (including planting, caring for, pruning, and harvesting of our many pecan trees and pecan orchard), farming/gardening of various vegetable plants including tomatoes, poultry farming, revitalizing native grasses on the over 725 acres of property by cedar clearing of second growth cedar. Cedar clearing is critical to maintaining our property. If not cleared, the property will become overrun and overpopulated by second growth cedar. Second growth cedar over consumes water, which kills native grasses, erodes the soil, and devalues the land. It also makes the land unsuitable for grazing of our livestock and increases the risk of wildfires. Other job duties may include breeding and caring for livestock including horses, fence repair to protect the livestock on our property, maintenance of reservoirs and waterways to provide water for our pecan trees, livestock, and native grasses. In addition to maintenance of the ranch to reduce the risk of wildfires, we had extensive property damage and devastation from the July 4 flood. We still have a lot of cleanup and damage to repair on the ranch property.
