Job description
Load and unload crops or containers of materials, manually or using conveyors, handtrucks, forklifts, or transfer augers. Observe and listen to machinery operation to detect equipment malfunctions. Manipulate controls to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery. Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops. Clean work areas, and maintain grounds and landscaping. Examine and inspect containers, materials, or products to ensurethat product quality and packing specifications are met. Measure, weigh, and count products and materials. Record product, packaging, and order information on specified forms and records. Assemble, line, and pad cartons, crates, and containers, using hand tools. Obtain, move, and sort products, materials, containers, and orders, using hand tools. Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools. Place or pour products or materials into containers, using hand tools and equipment, or fill containers from spouts or chutes. Load materials and products into package processing equipment. Operate back hoe, forklift, trucks on the farm. Perform farm maintenance activities. General seasonal farm duties assigned. Tractor tillage work. Maintain and operate irrigation systems. Tow harvesting equipment. Drive trucks to haul crops, supplies, tools, or farm workers. Farming with: Potatoes
Special Requirements
No minimum education requirement. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employers expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Repetitive movements is required. Workers must have positive verifiable experience relevant to the job and be capable of performing physically demanding tasks. Workers must be able to speak English.
