Job description
Manually plant, cultivate and harvest crops. Use hand tools, knives, and other tools. Duties include tilling of soil, applying fertilizer, weeding, organic pesticide applications, harvesting, cleaning, packing and loading of produce. Set up of trellises, fence and farm building maintenance, operate irrigation, driving tractors, using tractor mounted implements for tillage, cultivation, fertilization, and spraying. Identifying plants, weeds, and pests. Informing employer of crop progress, seed starting and greenhouse work. Must have 3 months verifiable experience. Criminal background check at the expense of the employer, post hire, to ensure safety of employees, employer, and the public that come to the farm. Results will not lead to automatic termination. Crops include: baby salad greens, squash, tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, potatoes, herbs, berries, beets, peas, kale, and beans. Those that are requested to drive will be required to possess an appropriate license; no one will be rejected for this position that does not possess a driver’s license.
