Job description

Workers will operate agricultural equipment including tractors, combines, seeders, sprayers, and grain trucks to perform essential tasks related to grain and livestock production on a 4,100-acre farm. Duties include planting, tilling, spraying, harvesting, and transporting grain and feed within the farm. Workers are expected to inspect equipment before use, perform routine maintenance, and carry out minor repairs to ensure safe and efficient operation. Tasks are time-sensitive and vary based on weather and seasonal demands. Workers must follow established procedures to complete operations such as seeding, fertilizing, and harvesting crops without damage to equipment or produce. The role requires careful handling of machinery and attention to field conditions, including adjusting for terrain and crop requirements. Additional responsibilities may include loading and unloading materials and maintaining clean work areas. Work is physically demanding and performed outdoors in varying weather conditions, including heat, cold, dust, and rain. Employees must be able to work long hours during peak times, up to 10 hours per day and 60 hours per week. Experience in operating modern agricultural machinery and understanding farming workflows is essential for successful job performance. This temporary role supports increased labor demands during the peak season. Employees will be provided with adequate breaks, including meal and rest periods, consistent with applicable Federal, State, and local law, during the course of each workday.

Special Requirements

Minimum of 3 months experience is required. Lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Operator License Class D Candidate will have 60 days to obtain. Skill Level II Experienced Level Pursuant to the Interim Final Rule (IFR) implementing the new four-level wage system for H-2A occupations, the employer designates this position as Skill Level II Experienced Level, indicating that the job requires prior related experience, independent judgment in performing recurring tasks, and the ability to work with limited supervision. The employer reserves the right to withhold the applicable housing deduction as permitted under program regulations, when approved and disclosed in the job order.
