Job description
JC Farming farms a variety of crops: hay (4 cuttings per year), wheat harvest (usually lasts 5-6 weeks beginning the first week of July) and specialty crops that change annually depending on contracts such as peas, corn and pumpkins. Job duties may include and are not limited to tasks such as: moving irrigation pipe lines daily, attach/detach implements, clean work areas, load and unload materials and commodities, load inputs and drive trucks to transport to fields, operate self propelled machinery, tilling soil, transplanting, weeding, thinning, trap and destroy pests, use hand tools such as such as shovels, trowels, hoes, tampers, shears, loppers, and knives, use hand tools such as wrenches, crow bars, air tools, electric tools. Equipment such as but not limited to the following will be used/operated by the workers in conjunction with the duties being performed: bailers and other hay equipment, GPS guidance systems, grain carts, irrigation equipment, mowers and other landscaping equipment, self-propelled machinery, sprayers, swathers, bailers, and other hay equipment, tillage equipment, tractor/trailer combinations, tractors. The workers will be performing the duties to help produce: hay, vegetables, wheat, must speak and understand English.
Special Requirements
Three (3) months recent and verifiable experience required for the job duties listed. Must be able to obtain appropriate drivers license following hire and obtain clean driving record. Be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Once hired, worker may be required to take a drug test at no cost to the worker and be subject to the employers drug free and alcohol free workplace policy including testing protocols. Testing positive for an illegal/controlled substance or failure to comply may result in immediate termination from employment.
