Landscaping And Groundskeeping Workers

Job description

Landscape or maintain grounds of property using hand or power tools or equipment. Workers typically perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: sod laying, mowing, trimming, edging, blowing, pruning, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, sprinkler installation, and installation of mortarless segmental concrete masonry wall units.

o Gather and remove litter
o Use hand tools, such as shovels, rakes pruning saws, saws, hedge or brush trimmers, or axes
o Operate vehicles or powered equipment, such as mowers, tractors, twin-axle vehicles, chainsaws, electric clippers, sod cutter, or pruning saws
o Water lawns, trees, or plants, using portable sprinkler systems, hoses, or watering cans
o Prune or trim trees, shrubs, or hedges, using shears, pruners, or chain saws
o Handing and Moving Objects-Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things
o Performing General Physical Activities-Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling materials

Detailed work Activities
o Dispose of trash or waste materials
o Operate grounds maintenance equipment
o Irrigate lawns, tree, or plants
o Drive trucks or other vehicle to or at work sites
o Trim trees or other vegetation

Special Requirements

Must be able to carry 50lbs. when necessary and frequently work on hands and knees
